Thank you, Muhammad, for teaching us about Ramadan. We loved making the colorful fanous!
These lanterns were traditionally used to decorate inside homes or on the streets of the town during Ramadan. They come in an array of colors and shapes and symbolize hope as they light the way through darkness. Ramadan Mubarak! Reading is even more fun when using your own origami bookmark!
A big shout out to 4H's own Ms. Maggie Sebber for teaching us how to make these adorable little creatures. After reading SIT-IN: How Four Friends Stood Up by Sitting Down, 4th Graders at Polk Street School created their own Recipes for Peace. Fairness, hope, bravery, kindness, and courage were some of the key ingredients. With some love and friendship sprinkled in, the students wrote the perfect recipes to serve up peace to our world. Maggie L and her mom as snow angels! Emma's snowman! Emma's snow angel! Sean's igloo!
Connor and his snowman! Oliver's snowman! Paul M and his snowman! Well the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful. Since we've no place to go, let is snow, let it snow, let it snow! What word would you use to replace the word "fire" in the song lyrics above? Please tell us what you consider delightful today. |
